Voiceleading Diatonic Cycles

On this page there is an example of the C Major Scale harmonised into Voiceleading Cycle 2. It is moving through each chord of the scale and is essentially the same progression as its reverse cycle but moving in the opposite direction in pitch.

Instead of ascending in pitch moving through each chord it is descending in pitch and each chord moves to it's nearest possible pitches and follows strict voiceleading. One interesting feature of this behaviour is that each inversion of every chord is included in the cycle making it a great way to practice efficient chord voiceleading and unfamiliar chord movements.

Clicking the reverse button will give the opposite voiceleading cycle, where instead of moving downwards in pitch from C - dm - em ... it moves upwards in pitch from C - Bdim - Am- G...
